In 2009, the Association bought a 4000KG jade stone from Myanma and placed it at the junction of Canton Road and Jordan Road as a landmark for Jade Street.

The Macau Goldsmiths' Guild has a history of over 100 years and was re-registered with the Macau government in 1985 before the handover. During the Pacific War and the Japanese invasion of China, the gold and silver trading in Hong Kong was transferred to Macau, which made industry enter an illustrious period. After Macao's return to China, the Guild suggested the government to introduce legislation to regulate the standards for the fineness of gold ornaments, this prompted the government to enact "the law of gold ornaments fineness standards“ in 2003. Thereby launching the annual gold fineness testing, where each year a technical commissioner from the government’s economic bureau participates in the gold fineness testing of all members, and the Guild issues ‘Verification of Gold Fineness Certificate" to members that meet the fineness standards. Throughout the past 30 years, in order to improve the quality of workers, the Guild has held up to three professional training courses each year and to promote interactive exchanges to reach the international market! The current term is 34, with each term of three years. President: Ip Sio Kai Chief Director: Lee Koi Lan Chairman of Supervisory Board: Stephen Tse Yiu Yu
